    Skill Development Program

Punjab Skill Development Program has set up these sets of key programmes to equip these marginalized groups with skills to socially integrate them into the financial agenda. The aim of this pillar of PSDF is to create employment opportunities or pathways for society by providing skill training to marginalized youth. Under this, special programs are being run for various socially disadvantaged groups like transgenders, special persons, and non-Muslim youth. These include transgender programs, skills for special persons, and job skills for non-Muslim youth. All the details will be given in my article.

    PSDF Program for Transgender People

Transgender people in Pakistan are generally socially marginalized and do not have access to education or employment opportunities. To fill this gap, PSDF’s Transgender Program was launched. The program aims to teach transgender people skills and provide them with work experience so that they can take advantage of income-generating opportunities. Additionally, Akhuwat and Seed Out provided interest-free loans to these transgender people so that they could start their own businesses. This program not only makes transgender people financially independent but also gives them a respectable position in society.

    Key Features of the Transgender

The main features of the transgender program are explained to you in detail below. A program specifically aimed at transgender to provide them with a better source of income from economic hardship.

The sectors that have been mentioned to make transgenders economically prosperous citizens are:

    Skills for Special Needs People

In Pakistan, people with disabilities are often left behind economically and socially. The Skills for People with Special Needs Program is an important PSDF initiative for these individuals. The program aims to teach physically challenged, visually impaired, and deaf people skills that can meet their market demand. Under this program, PSDF has provided training opportunities to 2,500 trainees and achieved a high completion rate. Trainees are trained in areas such as digital literacy, customer service, and artificial intelligence to enable them to participate in economic activities. The program encourages social inclusion by involving people with disabilities in economic activities.

    Providing Employment Opportunities for Non-Muslims

Access to employment opportunities is also a major challenge for non-Muslim youth in Pakistan. PSDF has launched a Job Skills Program for non-Muslim youth with the aim of teaching them market-relevant skills and providing them with better employment opportunities. Under this program, PSDF has partnered with 48 training institutions and industries to provide training that will open doors of employment for 5,000 non-Muslim youth. The training aims to equip youth with both hard skills and soft skills so that they can succeed in the world of work.
