As a result, a total of 5,000 students from other provinces will also benefit through an easy online registration process via the Punjab Government’s official e-portal.

Historic Launch at UET Lahore – 14,000 Laptops Distributed
The prestigious University of Engineering and Technology Lahore was chosen as the starting point for launching the scheme. At this event, more than 14,000 students were awarded laptops under the first phase of the project.
The distribution included:
- 13 public universities
- 6 medical colleges
- 7 higher education institutions
This initiative aligns with the government’s broader goal of building a Digital Pakistan, where students can learn, innovate, and compete globally using the latest technology.

20,000 Students to Get Scholarships Under Maryam Nawaz’s Education Initiative
Alongside laptops, CM Maryam Nawaz also introduced an extensive scholarship package to ensure that no student is held back due to financial constraints. This generous initiative will support 20,000 students from various academic levels.

- Scholarships for students studying in the 2nd to 5th year and the 3rd to 8th semester.
- Over Rs. 12 crore in financial support for students enrolled in 27 government colleges of Lahore Division.
- An extra 3,121 scholarships have been allocated to students from six medical colleges and universities.
This dual-pronged approach, combining technology and financial support, will significantly boost access to quality education, especially for students from underserved backgrounds.
A Cultural Touch – Documentary & Creative Tributes
To add a meaningful cultural layer to the launch ceremony, a special documentary highlighting the objectives and impact of the Laptop and Honhar Scholarship Scheme was presented.
