Punjab Electric bike Scheme to be distributed to female students. The Punjab government has increased the number of electric bikes for students from 20,000 to 27,200, with the aim of providing the best and environment-friendly transport to female students. The Transport Department has announced that all female students will now be provided with electric bikes. In addition, bikes will be provided free of cost to orphan students, while the Bank of Punjab has approved a loan for bikes to 20,000 students, so as to reduce financial difficulties.
So far, the distribution of more than 5,000 petrol bikes and 2,000 electric bikes has been completed, and work is underway to provide another 6,500 electric bikes. Two-year insurance and service will also be provided with all the bikes so that the students do not face any kind of problem. In addition, there are more than 15,000 students on the waiting list who will be provided with bikes, which is a clear proof of the success of this scheme and public interest.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced to reduce the down payment to Rs 25,000 and the monthly installment to Rs 5,000 under this scheme to reduce the financial burden on students. The Transport Department has provided a unique facility for orphan students, under which they are being given completely free bikes. Bank of Punjab has approved providing loans to 20,000 male and female students so that they can get bikes in easy installments.

The government has already completed the distribution of more than 7,000 electric and petrol bikes, and work is underway to prepare another 6,500 bikes. All the bikes come with 2 years of insurance and service so that the students do not face any kind of problem. It is planned to provide bikes to 15,000 students on the waiting list soon.
