In the second phase, some important changes will be made to the Chief Minister Kisan Card.

    Second Phase of Kisan Card in Punjab

    In the second phase of the Chief Minister Kissan Card, small and medium farmers, who have land up to 25 acres, will be included. This will benefit a large number of farmers and more farmers will be able to benefit from this scheme. Apart from this, the loan limit per acre will also be increased so that farmers can invest more and thus increase the productivity of the land. This will not only provide financial support to the farmers but will also increase agricultural production many times over.

    Punjab Agriculture Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani appreciated the agricultural schemes of the Punjab Chief Minister with the aim of self-reliance of farmers. He said that in these schemes, farmers are moving towards prosperity and their lives are changing. These steps will further strengthen the agricultural sector and provide modern facilities to farmers. The Agriculture Minister also said that there is a need to eliminate transaction charges on purchases through Kisan Cards so that farmers can get more convenience.

    So far, 534,000 Kisan Cards have been approved for issuance. Due to this, all farmers are now receiving financial assistance and spending money to procure their agricultural inputs. So far, the Punjab Chief Minister’s Kisan Package has approved Rs 54 billion and has received Rs 34.5 billion through it. 87 percent of this amount is used in fertilizers, which is an essential item in the production cycle of farmers. Such financial assistance helps them overcome their financial problems and bring agricultural resources easily into their hands.

    Green Tractor Scheme in Punjab on the Verge of Success

    The Punjab Chief Minister’s Green Tractor Program is also a great success for farmers. Under this scheme, 9040 farmers out of 9500 have deposited their share and due to this, the production of 8823 green tractors has been completed so far. Out of these, 6635 tractors have been provided to the farmers. This scheme aims to increase agricultural production and provide modern tractors to the farmers so that they can cultivate their lands more efficiently. The Agriculture Minister said that 391 farmers have to deposit their share by February 10 and the first phase of this program will be completed in March.

    Solarization of Agricultural TubeWells Program in Punjab

    The Punjab government’s Solarization of Agricultural Tube Wells Program is another major project and has so far received more than 533,000 applications, out of which 385,130 have been approved. Under this scheme, farmers will be provided with solar-powered tube wells to save energy costs and protect the environment.
